START - Scripture Theology and Religious Tradition

Learning and Enrichment Program-START (Scripture , Theology , and Religious Traditions ), is a learning and enrichment program for those who wish to expand upon the knowledge learned in their youth , or for those lacking in the basics of the Roman Catholic faith and traditions.

In the Fall and Spring guest speakers are invited , usually for an eight hour session , spread out over the course of four weeks , to address some aspects of Scripture ( both Old Testament and New Testament ) . Also topics dealing with Theology and Religious Traditions are discussed.

Save the dates for the Spring session of START-This being designated as "The Year of Faith" by our Holy Father,Pope Benedict XVI, we are revisiting the Vatican Council Documents.. Presenters are Sister Victoria Toale,OP and our pastor, Fr. Robert Hewes.

Sister will be giving the historical background of the documents on April 8th and the Council document on the Role of the Laity in the Church, April 15th.

The following week, April 22nd, Fr. Hewes will discuss the Council document regarding the Liturgy.

Each session will be for two hours, beginning at 7:30 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m..
