We celebrate God's mercy and forgiveness in the Sacrament of Reconciliation here at St. Matthew. In this special sign of God's grace, we restore right relationships with God and each other.
The Confession/Penance is celebrated every Saturday from 3 PM to 4 PM in the Church.
At any other time, please call to make an appointment with a priest.
Christmas and Easter Confessions will be posted.
From the U.S. Bishops: Examination of Conscience
O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee, and I detest all my sins because of thy just punishments, but most of all because they offend Thee, my God, who art all good and deserving of all my love. I firmly resolve with the help of Thy grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasion of sin. Amen.
Typically, children receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion in May of second grade. We make Confirmation in the Spring of 8th grade. Sacrament years are now two-year programs - First Communion 1st & 2nd grade, Confirmation 7th & 8th grade.
At St. Matthew, together with the parents and with the grace of God, the Religious Education Department along with all the catechists, work hard to help the children become all God created them to be.
